It is with great joy that we announce the foundation of Association for Democracy in Iran. Today at 18.00 ADI:s first meeting took place where the members choose name for the association and approved unanimously the political vision of the Association for Democracy in Iran. The ADI works with spreading democratic values among society in general and specially Iranian exiles.
ADI:s new chairman, Ardavan Khoshnood says:
”An association with clear objectives and distinct opinions in the Iran issue has been missing. It’s about time such an association was founded. That we are the ones who founded this association is a joy and an honor.”ADI is politically and religiously independent and is consisted with members from different political and religious associations. What unites us is the vision of liberating, democratizing and modernizing Iran that since 1979 has been a victim for terror, suppression, murder and torture by the Islamic republic.
ADI’s opinions about the Islamic republic, that occupies Iran, and our thought about Iran’s future are clear. We believe that the best way to liberate Iran and it’s people is through a total boycott that finally overthrows the Islamic republic and replaces it with a democratically elected government.
ADI:s chairman, Ardavan Khoshnood says:
”The only way to get rid of the Islamic regime in Iran is by overthrowing it. You can not have a dialogue with a regime that stone children to death and publicly executes the opposition, while constantly ignoring international law.”The name “Association for Democracy in Iran” was chosen because it clearly shows the purpose and the ambition of our organization. The Iranian people suffer today more than everbefore and their pleads for help can be heard all over the world. It’s about time to act instead of looking away.
The meeting choose unanimously the individuals below to membership in the ADI board for year 2007/2008:
